Calmer Canines is based near Swindon, Wiltshire and is run by myself, Sarah Hewson, holder of Jan Fennell’s Advanced Certificate in Canine Communication.

I have owned dogs for the past 15 years and having tried traditional dog training methods, I often found myself wondering why I could not control my dogs’ seemingly difficult behaviour.  Like many, I put it down to the fact that they were rescue dogs with ‘problems’.  

I then read Jan's first book, ‘The Dog Listener’ which immediately struck a chord with me and I enrolled myself on the Canine Communication Foundation course.  I gained a fascinating insight into canine communication and was invited to join the advanced course.

Now as a qualified Dog Listener, I am able to teach other owners the method and in doing so, help them to understand and manage their own dog's behaviour.
